Private aviation company Simply Jet is a private jet brokerage company based in Switzerland and operating worldwide. Founded in 2016, the company specialises in a bespoke charter offering for clients seeking a luxurious travel experience. Educated in Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Simply Jet brings together hospitality excellence with social values.
In addition to avoiding the legal complexity of aircraft management and fractional ownership, a societal push towards sustainability catalysed by the pandemic, has seen the private jet market trend shift towards rental – as with Simply Jet’s business model.
Believe it or not, private jets offer an appealing alternative to commercial flights, with journeys between private terminals cutting flight time by half and reducing emissions on the ground. Responding to the demand for flexible and safe travel in a post-pandemic world, as well as the emergence of a more environmentally-conscious client base, Simply Jet offer a carbon offset program, Simply Green, to their clients.
As the sole owners of the business, the management team have been able to maintain an agile structure which allowed them to adapt swiftly to changes in the market and keep values like sustainability at the forefront of their operations.
Together with non-profit organisation myclimate, Simply Jet have developed a formula that accurately calculates the CO2 emissions that need to be offset (in line with international standards) in order to make each flight carbon neutral. One of the world’s quality leaders in voluntary CO₂-compensation measures, myclimate’s projects meet the highest standards (Gold Standard, Plan Vivo) with its customers including large, medium-sized and small companies, public administrations and private individuals. Many organisations focus on carbon reduction rather than removal; not only does myclimate focus on the latter, it takes steps to address the dangers presened by other man-made greenhouse gases such as methane or nitrous oxide, referred to as CO2e.
myclimate has developed and supported 174 carbon offset projects in 45 countries around the world since its foundation in 2002. It promotes quantifiable climate protection worldwide and shapes the future through consultation, education and climate protection projects. Through these activities, and the implementation of energy-efficient technologies, emissions are reduced by replacing fossil fuel sources with renewable energies.
Once a client’s flight with Simply Jet has been completed, instructions are provided to enable a donation to the global effort to protect the environment by offsetting carbon emissions. Therefore through Simply Green, Simply Jet are able to ensure that 100% of the direct and indirect emissions from each flight is offset, making flights carbon neutral.
