Environmental Infrastructure Projects
We act for promotors of infrastructure schemes intended to have a positive environmental effect as well as parties affected by such developments. Our extensive experience promoting such schemes enables us to focus on critical aspects of proposals, adding value to the project team throughout consent and implementation stages.
Within our infrastructure practice, we act for a number of promotors of schemes intended to have a positive environmental effect.
These include renewable energy projects and flood defence schemes. In recent times we have promoted several flood barrier projects including the Boston Barrier and the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier. We also have experience acting on projects which relate to sewage treatment and disposal.
Environmental issues frequently arise in relation to wider infrastructure projects and we regularly advise on the implications of legislation protecting biodiversity, habitats and wildlife for proposals and consents. This can encompass working with environmental consultants to ensure that environmental assessments are legally robust, identifying any environmental consenting risks and assisting developers with securing and delivering appropriate mitigation measures.
