The 10,000 Interns programme: Meet Funmi

Funmi

1. What about BDB Pitmans appealed to you before you accepted your internship?

Working for a law firm was a completely new experience for me. Understanding that technology and innovation drive a law firm’s growth, especially at BDB Pitmans, made me eager to learn more about the company and how they utilise technology to enhance their operations and client services. This exciting challenge has greatly motivated me to join the team.

2. What are you enjoying most about your internship with BDB Pitmans?

I’ve enjoyed learning across various areas in the IT department. Working with the IT service desk and the development team in Reading has been particularly rewarding. It’s been enlightening to understand different aspects of the IT function and how each individual / team contributes to the firm’s technological advancement to enhance client services and also the company’s operations.

3. If you were to describe our company culture in three words, what would they be?

Supportive, innovative, and collaborative.

4. Of the projects you have been working on here, which has been of particular interest to you and why?

One project of particular interest has been working on an application the legal teams use called InTapp. This is used to verify client details and mitigate risk. Our team is focused on automating the client onboarding process to streamline operations. This is very interesting, as it solves many problems. It involves finding automation tools that pull data from multiple sources, etc.; this reduces repetitive tasks and speeds up client verification. This not only helps the fee-earners but also the whole business.
