The 10,000 Interns programme: Meet Theresa

Theresa

1. What about BDB Pitmans appealed to you before you accepted your internship?

While researching the firm, I watched their #womenwhoinspire series. Hearing the different paths that these women took to get to where they are in their careers really appealed to me and gave me confidence that I too can have a successful journey and that BDB Pitmans would be a great place to help me grow and flourish on that journey.

2. What are you enjoying most about your internship with BDB Pitmans?

Honestly, I enjoy getting to learn the office culture. It is my first time in such a setting, so even the most mundane of things, such as using the printer and sitting in meetings, is enjoyable for me. I find myself learning so much every day, and the fact that my days are never the same also keeps it interesting.

3. If you were to describe our company culture in three words, what would they be?

The three words I would use are balanced, supportive, and respectful. From what I have experienced, the firm truly does care about having a balanced work life and is very supportive of their employees. Everyone I have encountered has been so respectful and kind, which really shows that the firm does exercise its core values in all aspects.

4. Of the projects you have been working on here, which has been of particular interest to you and why?

Last week, I had the opportunity of working with work experience students. It was interesting for me to be able to see the work that goes into preparing events and opportunities for young people. It also made me appreciate the effort the firm makes in increasing diversity and inclusivity through championing new talent.
