BDB Pitmans has been recommended by the leading legal directories, The Legal 500 (United Kingdom) and Chambers and Partners (Chambers UK). Both directories are highly regarded guides within the legal profession and rankings are published based on independent research into law firms, their clients and key contacts in the industry.
The Legal 500
The Legal 500 UK is a leading guide which provides reliable and up-to-date information on law firms and solicitors in the UK. The rankings that are published in the guide reflect detailed analysis of law firm submissions and the thousands of interviews that are conducted by The Legal 500 team of experienced researchers. All ranking law firms and listed leading individuals are ‘recommended’ by The Legal 500.
In the 2021 edition, BDB Pitmans has been recommended in 43 categories, with Tier 1 rankings for Infrastructure: Parliamentary (London), Commercial Litigation (Reading), Insolvency and Corporate Recovery (South East), Pensions (South East), and IT and Telecoms (Reading).
Notably, 22 individuals were also recognised as Leading Individuals, Next Generation Partners, Rising Stars and in the Hall of Fame, which highlights individuals who have received constant praise from their clients for continued excellence.

Chambers and Partners has been a leading source of legal market intelligence for over 30 years. Rankings are based on several factors and considerations including: technical legal ability, client service, depth of team, commercial vision and business understanding, diligence and value for money.
In the 2021 edition, BDB Pitmans has been recommended in 26 categories and has maintained its ‘Band 1’ ranking for litigation, pensions, planning and restructuring / insolvency. The firm’s agricultural law and infrastructure planning teams have also improved their rankings, moving up from Band 3 to Band 2.
In addition, 31 individuals were named as Ranked Individuals, Eminent Practitioners, as well as in the Up and Coming, Associates to Watch and Senior Statesperson categories in their areas of specialism.
