Top UK law firm, BDB Pitmans, has advised the shareholders of Off Grid Energy Limited (Off Grid Energy) on OGE’s sale to Generac Holdings Incorporated (Generac). The acquisition, completed on 01 September 2021, was for an undisclosed sum.

Located in Rugby, United Kingdom, Off Grid Energy offers a diverse range of energy storage solutions that provide cleaner and more flexible energy for industrial and mobile applications, minimising environmental impacts by reducing fuel consumption and cutting CO2 and NOx emissions. It supplies a wide range of clients who operate in the construction, utility, event, electrical vehicle charging and behind the meter storage markets. Examples of innovative solutions include gridtogo™, which is utilised by the construction sector to efficiently stores spare energy when the generator is running to use later when the generator can turn off.

The acquisition of Off Grid Energy by Generac, a leading global designer and manufacturer of energy technology solutions and other power products, headquartered in Waukesha, United States, will help Generac expand its energy storage portfolio globally, bringing more sustainable power solutions to the dynamic market.

Corporate partner John Hutchinson led the transaction, with assistance from Associate Daniela Munro, both located in the BDB Pitmans’ Reading office.

Commenting on the acquisition, John Hutchinson comments:

‘With the COP26 summit due to take place in the next few months, climate change and environmental concerns remain at the forefront of minds. Meeting the increasing global customer demand for sustainable energy storage solutions is assisted by collaboration between suppliers to provide innovative solutions.

The BDB Pitmans corporate team is pleased to work with new client Off Grid Energy on its acquisition by Generac, and look forward to increasing our client-base in the sustainable energy industry.’
