Leading UK law firm, BDB Pitmans, is proud to sponsor the Sustainable Development category at the Thames Valley Property Awards 2022.

These awards provide a platform to celebrate the achievements, deals and developments of the past year and bring together developers, dealmakers, surveyors, and key figures in the commercial, retail and residential property communities.

Highly regarded in the Thames Valley market and ranked by both Chambers and the Legal 500, BDB Pitmans’ real estate team advise on a wide range of real estate matters. Our Reading-based team is particularly experienced in large-scale residential developments acting for housebuilders and promoters through the site acquisition, planning and plot sale process.

As an organisation with its own climate change strategy journey which encompasses a variety of wide-ranging measures, policies and practices designed to reduce its carbon emissions and energy use over time, BDB Pitmans is particularly delighted to sponsor the ‘Sustainable Development’ category.

This award highlights commercial and residential properties with impressive sustainability credentials, rating them on a number of factors ranging from biodiversity to wellbeing, to energy use and their impact on transportation. The category also appreciates the commercial importance of green buildings, recognizing that they are not only good for the environment, but are in demand by occupiers. Now more than ever, sustainable premises are also a fundamental element of creating a positive corporate image.

The category will assess buildings that are BREEAM certified (the world’s leading sustainability assessment method which includes Home Quality Mark) as well as developments that promote energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and minimise environmental impact.

Real Estate partner Sarah Potter commented:

‘The Thames Valley Property Awards offer an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and achievements of those working in the real estate sector and bring together the best and brightest in the industry. The regional property market continues to offer challenges and opportunities in equal measure but the awards provide a much needed opportunity to reflect on the creativity emerging from developers in response to the changing demands of consumers navigating a post-pandemic landscape. As proud members of the Legal Sustainability Alliance, BDB Pitmans is particularly excited to see what these amazing finalists have to showcase.’

Winners will be announced in a ceremony taking place at Ascot Racecourse on 16 November 2022.
