BDB Pitmans welcomes new senior associate to the Private Wealth team
BDB Pitmans has appointed new senior associate, Michael Calfe, to its leading private wealth practice.
Named by Chambers 2021 as one of its ‘Associates to watch’ Michael joins the firm’s Reading office from Bonnetts Solicitors where he was an associate director. With over nine years’ experience, he specialises in the drafting of Wills, the administration of Estates, Lasting Powers of Attorney, applications for Deputyship Orders and Trust administration.
Michael has worked for a range of different clients including high net worth individuals whom he has assisted with Will planning and inheritance tax planning as well as foreign and domicile assets.
He has also guided Executors in the management of complex estates, including estates in which the deceased was a non-domicile individual with property portfolios, business assets and assets in foreign jurisdictions.
Michael is also a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) – a global professional organisation for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning.
Senior Associate Michael Calfe commented:
‘I am delighted to join such a modern and forward-looking firm with a reputation as a trusted advisor for clients seeking expert international guidance. I would also like to thank my new team for their warm welcome.’
Partner Alastair Collett said of Michael’s arrival:
‘After the team appeared on the definitive list of the top HNW advisers in Britain in October last year, we are delighted to add Michael’s invaluable experience to our private wealth offering. His international expertise perfectly complements the firm’s outward-facing focus.’
Although Michael will be based in Reading, he will assist colleagues across the firms’ London, Cambridge and Southampton offices.
