BDB Pitmans’ London corporate team has successfully advised on five fundraisings and transactions in recent weeks, each led by partner Nick McCarthy.

The team advised Renalytix AI plc on a court-approved reduction of capital. Nick McCarthy was supported by legal director Andrew McGlashan and corporate associate Daniel King. Partner Sinead Lester, senior associate Natasha Davis, and trainee solicitor Tom Lane in BDB Pitmans’ litigation team also assisted.

Circassia Group plc, a respiratory disease pharmaceutical company, instructed BDB Pitmans to advise on an equity facility arrangement to allow for subscriptions by certain shareholders if required. Andrew McGlashan worked alongside Nick McCarthy advising its new client Circassia.

Corporate and institutional brokers WH Ireland, and merchant bank Brandon Hill Capital, engaged the firm to act on a placing and subscription of shares raising £1.7 million for Phoenix Copper Ltd, a North American precious metals exploration and development company.

Advising Arden Partners plc and finnCap Ltd, BDB Pitmans worked with its clients on the placing and subscription of shares from institutional investors to raise £12.7 million for Open Orphan plc. Nick McCarthy, Andrew McGlashan and senior associate Mireille Turner handled the fundraising.

WH Ireland Ltd and Alvarium Capital Partners appointed the team as it embarked on secondary fundraising for AIM-listed Immotion Group, a virtual reality solutions provider. Nick McCarthy worked alongside Andrew McGlashan on the placing by way of an accelerated bookbuild to raise £1.7 million.

Nick McCarthy, Partner, BDB Pitmans, comments:

‘We are encouraged that our clients remain very active during these challenging times and as always, are grateful to them for having instructed us.’
