Four rising stars: BDB Pitmans promotes new generation of talent to partnership
BDB Pitmans is delighted to announce the promotion of Mustafa Latif Aramesh, Lorna du Sautoy, and Oliver Willis to partner with immediate effect, bringing the total number of partners within the firm to 67. Mustafa, Sarah and Oliver all started at the firm as Trainees and BDB Pitmans is proud to have supported these individuals throughout their careers.
These promotions reflect BDB Pitmans’ commitment to retaining top talent and to cultivating a culture of excellence, teamwork and growth.
In the world of infrastructure planning, Mustafa has emerged as a trailblazer specialising in infrastructure planning, public law, legislative drafting and parliamentary procedure. He has extensive major infrastructure planning experience, having worked on over 20 transport and energy Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects including advising on the development of three Small Modular Reactor projects in the UK, the Lower Thames Crossing, Luton Airport expansion, and advising Government on planning and environmental reforms.
Mustafa is also the youngest Parliamentary Agent to be enrolled for a generation, making him one of four Parliamentary Agents at the firm authorised by Parliament to promote and oppose private and hybrid legislation. In addition to being a member of the Advisory Board to the Office for Place, which sits within the Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities, Mustafa is also a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of the Nuclear Industry Association.
Lorna is a force in the firm’s private real estate offering and her wide-ranging practice incorporates prime and super prime London residential property and luxury property assets. In addition to this, Lorna is the firm’s resident PropTech specialist. In 2022 she was named Inspirational Individual of the Year at the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards and she has also been named by her peers as a Rising Leader in the Private Client Global Elite Directory. Lorna is frequently called upon to provide expert commentary by the press for publications such as eprivateclient, CityAM, New Civil Engineer and IFA Magazine, amongst others.
Oliver has made an indelible mark on the firm’s commercial offering, advising clients on commercial agreements, outsourcing and technology contracts. He is also a data protection expert, advising on all aspects of data and privacy law in the UK. This rare combination of expertise means he sees the full picture on data-driven commercial transactions. Clients really value this integrated approach, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, where Oliver has extensive experience. He also advises many of BDB Pitmans’ charity clients, including on the use of data in direct fundraising and supporter engagement. Oliver frequently acts for public sector clients on technology procurement and complex data protection matters.
This group are all leaders in their respective fields, with each member bringing a unique blend of expertise and technical acumen to their work. Together they embody a cross section of the firm’s diverse capabilities and speak to its strength in the areas they represent, boasting exceptional profiles in their practice areas and beyond.
