The firm is deeply saddened to announce that our friend and former colleague Paul Thompson has passed away.

Paul, who has died from cancer at the age of 67, was a partner and ‘Roll A’ Parliamentary Agent at Bircham Dyson Bell (BDB) for many years. He was a leading expert in many fields and was greatly valued by his colleagues, clients and all who worked with him.

The breadth of Paul’s knowledge earned him the respect of all he dealt with. He was passionate about the law, the work he did and the impact this work had on society. He was also deeply committed to mentoring colleagues, sharing his knowledge and to the firm he helped grow.

Outside of work, Paul had many interests but it was his family that was his abiding and overwhelming passion. Paul leaves behind so many friendships by his passing but also many people who have learnt and succeeded in their careers, thanks to him.

He was an inspiration to so many and we pay tribute to him and send our warmest wishes to his family and everyone who will be saddened by this loss.
