Reading may not have achieved official ‘city’ status (yet), but it is ranked extremely well in a number of ‘Small European Cities of the Future’ categories in the Financial Times bi-annual report.

Ranking in six separate categories, with an overall ranking of 25th in European Cities of the Future, Reading is the place to be if you’re building up a business.

It has been named as the second most business-friendly small city in Europe, 10th for economic potential and boasts a huge breadth of digital, tech and specialist industries.

The economic potential of the Thames Valley, coupled with easy access to a wide talent pool from the various educational institutions in Reading and the surrounding area, makes for a well connected root to grow your business.

Businesses are able to tap into investments, business parks and transport connectivity with easy links to London, the South and the Midlands, which would be difficult to find anywhere else in the UK.

Judged 8th Small European City of the Future by the Financial Times, the classifications include consideration of the local labour market, strategy for inward investment and business friendliness. With an awards program that takes so many practical considerations into account, the results and rankings given to Reading make for a promising future ahead.

We have long standing relationships with Thames Valley businesses enabling them to connect their clients for a holistic approach. The community feel of entrepreneurs in Reading is a welcoming environment by many new start ups and is a great location for developing lasting business relationships.
