Reading Professionals Foundation raises over £14,000 for local charity, Daisy’s Dream
Top UK law firm BDB Pitmans, in conjunction with BDO, Natwest and Coutts, (members of the Reading Professionals Foundation), have overseen the donation of £14,000 to local charity, Daisy’s Dream. The sum was raised through contributions taken during the annual Reading Professionals Charity Christmas lunch 2022, attended by professional firms from across Reading. The 2022 event was hosted by BDO, who nominated Daisy’s Dream as their chosen office charity and the official cheque presentation for the funds took place on Monday 5 June 2023.
Established in 1996, Daisy’s Dream supports children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement. The organisation predominantly works with families and individuals across Berkshire and the surrounding areas, but recently extended its services to Cheshire East. Services include telephone support and advice for parents, carers and professionals, home and school visits for children or young people and group events.
Officially incorporated last year, the Reading Professionals Foundation is a joint initiative, founded by colleagues from legacy firm Pitmans Law (now BDB Pitmans), BDO, and Natwest, and has been running informally for over a decade. During this time, it has raised over £100,000 for local charities through an annual networking and charity dinner which takes place on the first Thursday of December and draws over 300 professionals from across the region. Save-the-dates have been sent out for this year’s Christmas event which will be hosted by BDB Pitmans.
Partner Penny Chapman and Legal Director David Williams of BDB Pitmans are Charity Directors and Trustees of the Foundation and David has been on the organising committee since 2019.
