Home / News and Insights / News / Remediation of non-ACM buildings

In March 2020, the government announced further plans to help protect leaseholders from the costs of remediating unsafe cladding on residential buildings. A further £1 billion in funding (2020/21) is to be made available to support remediation of unsafe non-ACM cladding systems on qualifying buildings (at least 18 metres in height). This is in addition to the fund set up post-Grenfell Tower to remediate ACM cladding. Owners, freeholders or responsible entities who consider they may be eligible for the fund are asked to register by no later than 31 July 2020.

Leaseholders are not eligible to register but if they are concerned that the owner of their building is not taking sufficient action to remediate or is passing remediation costs onto their leaseholders, they can still notify details of their building by completing a feedback form.

A prospectus on eligibility for the fund and details of how to register are available here.
