Home / News and Insights / News / Webinar round up: Latest developments on Biodiversity Net Gain

In a webinar on 9 March 2023, partner Angus Walker introduced the latest state of play on biodiversity net gain (BNG), including the government’s consultation response published on 21 February 2023.

Almost all planning applications are set to be ‘nature positive’ from November onwards, with the plans backed by £16 million of funding for Local Planning Authorities and guidance to support the new approach. This session addressed the following:

  • What is biodiversity net gain (BNG) and how does it work?
  • What are the implications of the government response?
  • What opportunities do BNG present?
