Gemma has extensive experience of residential property development work.
She advises both developers and landowners on all aspect of residential development matters, from acquisition (by way of option agreements, conditional contacts, promotion agreements and unconditional contracts) through to plot sales. Gemma regularly acts for clients arranging development financing and assists in title due diligence for planning agreements.
Career Highlights
- Advising a top five housebuilder in its acquisition of a consented scheme for in excess of £53million (including 5 different types of overage payment)
- Acting for a developer in the simultaneous acquisition and sub-sale of a consented scheme by way of an Option Agreement for the purchase and an unconditional sub-sale contract
- Advising SME developer on purchase of a development site by way of an Option Agreement for £850,000
- Advising individual landowner on the sale of their property by way of Promotion Agreement and then negotiating and completing the sale contract for a sale of part after the successful promotion of the property for planning by the promoter
- Acquisition of a development site by way of site assembly from multiple landowners, arranging the transfer into a single SPV and then completion of a new funding arrangement to finance the development.
