Lynsey is an experienced litigator with expertise in cross-border contentious trusts and estates and high value commercial and property disputes. She has acted for private and public bodies in judicial review challenges, procurement claims and regulatory proceedings.

Lynsey has worked with a number of well-known companies, trustees and individuals to resolve disputes, offering practical advice on how to achieve the best result in the most cost effective way. She’s also familiar with alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and expert determination.

Career Highlights

  • Setting aside various court orders to permit a Guernsey trustee to defend unfair prejudice proceedings in the English Companies Court concerning shares worth £30 million, where three law firms had purported to represent the trustee in the proceedings for three years without the trustee’s knowledge.
  • Advising offshore trustees in varied litigation arising from invalid deeds of retirement and appointment of new trustees.
  • Successfully intervening in high profile commercial court proceedings to protect our client’s commercially sensitive documents from being disclosed in public proceedings.
  • Acting for healthcare providers in challenges to public procurements of NHS services, including proceedings in the TCC and judicial review claims.
  • Acting for a housing association successfully defending a proprietary estoppel / constructive trust claim in the Court of Appeal: Haq v Island Homes Housing Association (2011)
