Matthew Heyworth

Matt is a formidable divorce lawyer who is known for his meticulous and straight-talking approach. He was recommended as one of the ‘Best Family Lawyers for High Net-Worth Clients’ in the Spear’s Family Law Index 2021 and is also ranked in the leading legal directory, Chambers and Partners. Matt was previously shortlisted for Family Partner of the Year at the Citywealth Future Leader Awards 2020 and was named one of the Top 35 under 35 private client practitioners by eprivateclient in 2019 and 2020.

Matt seeks to get to the heart of the issues from the very first meeting. His approach means that an early settlement is often possible. His work covers all aspects of family law including divorce, matrimonial finances, the preparation of pre and / post nuptial agreements, children matters and property ownership disputes (Trust of Land claims). Matt’s particular interest is on complex divorce cases involving business interests, trusts, foreign assets and multiple properties. Matt commonly deals with cases concerning disputes over non-matrimonial property, such as those acquired prior to the marriage, after separation or inherited wealth. He also acted in a number of complex children cases, which have involved parental alienation, alcohol / addiction issues and applications to permanently move abroad with a child.

In every case, Matt provides clear and concise advice. He is focussed on the objectives that are to be achieved, whilst remaining empathetic and supportive through what is a difficult and stressful time.
