Services

Olivia is an experienced litigator with a particular specialism in public law litigation and regulatory disputes. She has acted in numerous challenges to decisions of public bodies, including by way of judicial review and statutory appeals.  She is especially well-equipped to advise regulators on the exercise of fitness to practise functions and protection of title regimes, having acted for a statutory healthcare regulator for many years.

Olivia has considerable experience of matters involving a degree of sensitivity and/or with the capacity to generate public and media interest, including public and independent inquiries.  She has also handled disputes relating to environmental law and air pollution.  Her wider caseload includes commercial disputes and costs recovery.

Separately, Olivia is an experienced Privy Council agent, having acted for appellants and respondents in appeals from a range of jurisdictions, including Bermuda, the BVI, the Bahamas, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Olivia is committed to improving inclusivity within the legal profession and beyond.  She is an Inclusion Champion and chairs the firm’s health and wellbeing impact group.

  • Acting as a member of the Secretariat to the Forde Inquiry Panel, which was appointed to undertake an independent investigation into the circumstances and contents of the report entitled ‘the Work of the Labour Party’s Governance and Legal Unit in relation to antisemitism, 2014-2019’
  • Acting for the Health and Care Professions Council in an appeal to the Court of Appeal by the Professional Standards Authority, in Professional Standards Authority v (1) Health and Care Professions Council (2) Benedict Doree [C1/2015/1305]
  • Representing the Health and Care Professions Council as intervener in R (on the application of Ngole) v (1) University of Sheffield (2) Health and Care Professions Council [2017] EWHC 2669
  • Advising Natural Resources Wales on the implementation of Welsh government policy
