Philip has specialised in corporate tax for over twenty-five years. He provides advice on the full range of business taxes to a broad spectrum of clients, including large corporate clients, funds, SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, and property developers. He has been a corporate tax partner for over sixteen years.

He was recognised as a leader in his field in legal directories, including Chambers UK, which described him as ‘prized for his knowledge of corporate acquisitions and VAT and SDLT matters’, and he was also appointed to serve on the Law Society’s VAT and Duties sub-committee. He has contributed to tax publications, including Tax Journal, and lectures on tax topics for various legal knowledge management providers.

  • Advising on £127 million sale of a major national newspaper group.
  • Acting on buying out the majority stake held by the entertainment division of a multinational music entertainment conglomerate in a longstanding corporate joint venture with the business of a well-known presenter.
  • Acting for a leading provider of demountable structures to music, sporting, cultural and corporate events, and a range of public sector applications, on an investment by Flywheel Partners.
  • Acting on a group reorganisation involving the buy out of investors in a business of over 200 petrol service station forecourts.
