Sophie is a first year trainee in her second seat in the pensions team. She has recently assisted trustees of occupational defined benefit pensions schemes to make amendments to scheme rules, on scheme buy-outs and on compliance with data protection legislation. She has also assisted with delivering updates to trustee boards on the latest developments in pensions law, including GMP equalisation and pensions ombudsman decisions.
Sophie’s first seat was in the insolvency and restructuring team where she assisted administrators and liquidators in the performance of their duties as well as creditors of insolvent companies. She also gained experience working on litigious matters such as a complex high value bankruptcy case.
Sophie has had experience handling debt collection matters, she has negotiated settlements and successfully represented a client at court in relation to unpaid invoices for goods.
During her training Sophie has enjoyed attending the Citizens Advice Bureau where members of the firm provide free legal advice to the public.
