Sophie is a solicitor in the litigation department.
She is currently on secondment to the Ministry of Defence, acting as Solicitor to the Inquiry and Assistant to the Inspector for the Iraq Fatality Investigations. Sophie is assisting with investigations into the deaths of Radhi Nama and Mousa Ali following their detention at a British Military base in Iraq, as well as an investigation arising out of the death of Ahmed Jabbar Kareem Ali to ascertain whether there was a practice of ‘wetting’ looters in post-war Iraq.
Sophie recently completed her training contract with BDB Pitmans, sitting in the firm’s real estate, litigation, corporate and planning, infrastructure and public law departments.
During her litigation seat, Sophie worked on a wide range of matters concerning commercial and construction litigation, personal injury and product liability claims, and will and trust disputes. Sophie also gained experience with contentious public and regulatory issues, as well as group claims.
