Services

Tim is a commercial property and non-contentious construction lawyer with over 25 years’ experience. In particular, Tim’s practice involves transactions in the following sectors:

Property development – working with developers and institutions in relation to major retail, leisure and office developments. He has significant experience in negotiating funding/development agreements, joint-venture agreements and pre-let and forward sale agreements.

Strategic land – being retained by developers and funds in relation to all aspects of strategic land planning and development, including the grant of options and the negotiation of promotion agreements and collaboration arrangements.

Real estate finance – acting for borrowers in completing financing and refinancing arrangements with lenders including initial advice on term sheets and on all aspects of the security documentation.

Construction – advising developers and contractors on all aspects of construction documentation relating to property development, including drafting and negotiating building contracts, professional team appointments, warranties, bonds and guarantees.

Projects/infrastructure – being instructed by the private sector partner in connection with various healthcare and emergency services projects utilising PFI/PPP and other procurement/funding structures.

Career Highlights

  • Acting for a strategic land fund in negotiating and exchanging option agreements with multiple landowners for a major residential scheme in the south-east of England comprising a site of over 1500 acres
  • Representing the charitable arm of a central London local authority in relation to a major redevelopment. The selected developer will, following the grant of planning permission, enter into a rents receivable long lease and a development agreement to build out an office led development of at least 225,000 square feet of gross internal area
  • Advising the developer on the construction, funding and operation of a nurses’ accommodation/mental health facility at the Royal Free Hospital in North London
  • Working with the private sector project company in relation to the Suffolk Fire Rescue Services PFI from the preferred bidder stage through to financial close
