William is a senior associate in BDB Pitmans’ family and matrimonial team. His practice encompasses all aspects of family law including; matrimonial financial disputes, cohabitation/TOLATA proceedings, children matters, domestic and freezing injunctions, divorce, and nuptial agreements.
In terms of financial disputes, William is regularly instructed by clients in complex HNW and UHNW finance matters, often with assets situated outside the jurisdiction and/or within corporate or trust structures. He is equally adept at dealing with issues that arise for married and unmarried couples. The latter requires William’s experience of TOLATA, whether as between cohabitees or members of a wider family, and Schedule 1 proceedings being financial claims on behalf of a child. William has an extensive practice involving nuptial agreements often involving one or some of; fast-growing business assets, substantial inheritance funds, and pre-acquired capital.
William provides advice and representation in relation to all types of private law child disputes and has obtained successful results in matters which have required fact-finding and final hearings. He often acts for clients needing the specialist advice involved with leave to remove applications. William also has experience of cases with aspects including physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, as well as those involving substantive emotional harm allegations or substance misuse.
As a member of Resolution and a keen exponent of ADR forums, William regularly acts for clients engaging with arbitration and roundtable negotiations to bring about successful, cost, and time-effective solutions. In the event ADR is not appropriate, William is a skilled litigation strategist and Court advocate.
