Andrew Smith Partner
Leading law firm, BDB Pitmans, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lucinda Brown as a partner in their will and trust disputes team and Alexander Wood as a partner in their restructuring and insolvency team. Both appointments are with immediate effect.
Lucinda joins the firm from Hewitsons where she practised for 16 years. She qualified in 2004 and has since built up expertise in contentious work, frequently handling high-value cases on issues such as validity of wills, breach of trust claims, Inheritance Act claims and financial abuse of vulnerable adults. She is also a full member of The Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
Alexander joins the firm from Coffin Mew and brings over 15 years of experience in the corporate recovery and restructuring sphere, advising companies on a breadth of matters arising from distressed situations, ranging from restructurings, re-financings and company voluntary arrangements to administrations and liquidations. Alexander’s practice encompasses both contentious and non-contentious matters, including those with international and cross-border elements. His client base includes all stakeholders of distressed businesses, including boards, lenders and borrowers, in addition to insolvency practitioners.
Both Lucinda and Alexander have been recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ by one of the premier legal directories, Legal 500.
Andrew Smith, managing partner of BDB Pitmans, comments on the two hires:
‘Alexander and Lucinda are superb additions to BDB Pitmans and I am delighted to welcome them to the partnership. Both bring broad experience in their fields which will add significant value to their respective practice areas. I am sure that they will contribute to the ongoing success of the firm as we continue to expand.’
