Companies block ChatGPT amid privacy fears
In an article for The Times, Cheryl Gayer discusses the potential privacy concerns associated with ChatGPT since its launch in November 2022.
As a sophisticated artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT is able to write anything from film scripts to business plans, though some companies are blocking the use of it altogether. Cheryl highlights the need for organisations to minimise risk by issuing guidance policies for its use.
Whilst the use of AI such as ChatGPT presents exciting opportunities for businesses to become more efficient, unless clear policies are introduced as to how ChatGPT should be used by employees in the organisation, then there is a risk that this could lead to an increase in claims by employees for misuse of their personal data.
