Deathbed gifts may become more common due to COVID-19
Making a will is a central plank in estate planning, but surveys regularly show that only around 50% of the population have one. For many it languishes on the ‘to do’ list, never quite making it to the top, perhaps because it involves making difficult decisions about how to share assets between family, friends and charitable causes. For others it simply does not seem very urgent; whilst we all know that death will catch up with us one day, we like to hope that we have plenty of time left for living.
