Does the recent walkout in Westminster presage the end of the Lobby?

The new Government and chief special adviser to Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings, are keen to introduce new ways of working across the civil service, as well as the Lobby. Whilst selective lobby briefings are not new, it appears that the current UK Government is serious about its desire to exert more centralised control.

Stuart Thomson, head of public affairs, discusses the effects of this in his article for PR Week:

‘Out go the “cosy” relationships with the Lobby and in comes a new era where No. 10 can pick and choose the lines, the story, and make every attempt to dodge scrutiny.’
