Home / News and Insights / Press / How UK AI Agency Will Affect Regulatory Landscape

In September of this year, the UK government unveiled its plans to launch a new multiagency advice service, the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum AI and Digital Hub (DRCF), intended to provide clarity for innovators navigating the landscape of artificial intelligence and technology regulations.

Writing for Law360, solicitor Ludovico Lugnani considers what the DRCF is, the reasoning behind its creation, and how it will affect the regulatory landscape in the AI sector.

Ludovico Lugnani comments:

‘Backed by over £2 million in U.K. government funding, the streamlined service is intended to make it easier for businesses to get the help they need, by bringing together the different regulators involved in the oversight of cross-cutting AI and digital technologies. Successful applicants will benefit from a unified point of contact, directing their questions to the appropriate DRCF regulators. This approach is designed to provide innovators with bespoke support, bolstering their confidence in launching digital and AI-driven products that adhere to regulatory standards. The launch of this service should largely be welcome news for businesses across the U.K. with access to tailored support enabling companies to get digital innovations to market faster, without falling foul of regulatory standards.’
