I’m not happy with my online estate agent – what can be done?

A reader of The Sunday Times is upset over the lack of support he received from the online estate agent Yopa, when selling his house. They avoided his emails and calls, gave little or no feedback after viewings and over valued the property which resulted in little interest. The reader had no alternative but to cease the arrangement, has £1,400 at stake and wants to know what can be done to protect his funds.

Tim Middleton, Partner in our residential property team, advises on what grounds the reader may be able to complain.

Tim answers the readers’ question within the full article, which is available to subscribers of The Sunday Times, here.
