Home / News and Insights / Press / Norma takes home three awards at IDEAFEST 2018

Pitmans Law was delighted to take part in judging the final of IDEAFEST 2018, which saw Norma, the producer of the veggie brownie, take home the trophy.

IDEAFEST, now in its fifth year, was co-founded by Pitmans and Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship (HCfE) and invites students of Henley Business School to submit their innovative business ideas with the chance of winning funding and mentoring to make their business idea a reality.

The ideas this year ranged from an app that organises honeymoon packages to gift cards pre-programmed with money to a platform that hosts all of the best ‘life information’.

This year the judges were unanimous in choosing Norma as the winner, who not only scooped the best overall business idea, but also the award for best innovation idea and best non-technology idea.

Their veggie brownies, in both ready-to-eat and powder mix forms, combine taste with nutrition, with half of the brownies made up of vegetables. The result is a great brownie taste and a healthy snack high in fibre and minerals.

Stephanie Perry, Pitmans Law Corporate Partner, sat on the judging panel alongside Philip Huthwaite, CEO of Blackcurve, Alan Donegan, Co-Founder & Director of the Pop-up Business School, last year’s IDEAFEST winner Magnus Ronning, and other judges from a variety of backgrounds.

Perry said: “It was a pleasure to judge the finalists of IDEAFEST again this year. Pitmans are delighted to play a key role in an initiative that supports entrepreneurialism, especially in the younger generation. The creativity and innovation shown by the students in their business ideas was extremely high and the winners this year, Norma, in particular, have created an innovative product with great commercial potential.”

On winning the competition Sirada (Si) Chokwareeporn, Norma’s CEO, said: “IDEAFEST was more than prizes, it gave us experience and made us realise that it is not just us who sees the opportunities in Norma and desire to push it to be a real product. I can’t wait for the launch in the UK now! Thank you for supporting us.”
