Questions still to answer for Abramovich over proposed new charity
Roman Abramovich’s proposed new charity could take months to establish and potential trustees should seek immediate Government reassurance about the possible impact of any sanctions, according to experts in charity law. Abramovich has pledged to donate all ‘net proceeds’ from selling Chelsea to a new foundation and, while the Charity Commission have yet to receive any application, he says that he wants the money to ‘be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine’.
