The growing importance of water resources
A recent decision by secretary of state Michael Gove on a Cambridge development highlights an issue that will increasingly come to dominate planning applications.

‘Water scarcity is not a new phenomenon, but increasingly poses problems for developers and the government alike. In an environment where we are increasingly aware of climate change and where droughts and floods are becoming more commonplace, the idea of building additional homes in places where water is already scarce seems counter-productive.’
