Jeb is a second-year trainee, currently undertaking his fourth seat in the firm’s planning, infrastructure, and public law practice. His work involves advising on planning, environmental, and land acquisition matters relating to the promotion and objection of nationally significant infrastructure projects, primarily in the energy and transport infrastructure sectors, under the Transport and Works Act 1992 and the Planning Act 2008.
Jeb’s first seat was in the firm’s corporate practice in London, where he advised on company incorporations, intra-group restructures, tax-related issues, and corporate governance matters. Subsequently, he sat with the commercial real estate team, where he primarily drafted, negotiated, and completed voluntary land agreements for National Grid in relation to the Hinkley Point C Connection.
As part of his training contract, Jeb spent six months at ExxonMobil, a multinational oil and gas company, as a legal secondee. During this time, he worked with ExxonMobil’s in-house legal teams across the EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions to advise on oil and gas exploration and production contracts, strategic alliance agreements, complex multi-party non-disclosure agreements, and litigation matters. His work focused on researching and advising on domestic and international laws and regulations that govern the use of low-carbon solutions and carbon capture and storage technologies in the EU and US.
Prior to commencing his training contract, Jeb worked as a paralegal at BDB Pitmans LLP in the planning, infrastructure, and public law practice and at a Magic Circle law firm in their Global Disputes and Investigations practice.
