BDB Pitmans strengthens partnership with three new hires across real estate, banking and finance, and tax
BDB Pitmans welcomes three new partners, James Barnett, John Barker, and Philip Alfandary, to its real estate, banking and finance, and tax teams, respectively. All three took up their positions in January 2024.
James Barnett joins as a partner in BDB Pitmans’ Southampton office as part of the real estate team. He brings 18 years of experience, most recently as a legal director at Foot Anstey, and he previously practised at firms including Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, and Addleshaw Goddard. James has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of asset management and investment across the real estate sector, including commercial property, leasehold and freehold matters, and property management.
John Barker joins as partner and head of banking and finance in the corporate and commercial team and will be based in the firm’s Reading office. For the past decade, John has been a partner at Field Seymour Parkes with a wide-ranging practice across loan, security, and investment transactions, including financing for solar farms, securitisations, and advising senior lenders on the Eden Project. John will be spearheading the growth of the firm’s banking department.
Philip Alfandary joins as a tax partner in the corporate and commercial team based in London. He joins from Memery Crystal and brings over 20 years’ experience in corporate tax, private equity, and real estate taxes. His practice includes advising corporates, entrepreneurs, private equity investors, and funds on acquisitions, sales, tax structuring, and planning.
