Our Better Divorce model enables couples to navigate the legal issues relating to their separation quickly and cost efficiently. We offer a fixed fee so couples know at the outset what they will be paying for.
Each individual will have the opportunity to meet their lawyer separately. This enables the lawyer to ensure that both parties are aligned in their goals, intend to be open and honest about their financial affairs and crucially, want to negotiate fairly and of their own will.

Better Divorce is a cooperative way of parties working together with one lawyer to manage their separation in a friendly way, which will ultimately help them have a Better Divorce. It is intended to help separated couples communicate and come to an agreement in a positive way so that they can manage their own decision-making without conflict.
If Better Divorce isn’t suitable for me, what are my other options?
Depending on the stage of discussions reached, it may be possible for the chosen lawyer to continue advising only one party, while the other party will be advised to take separate legal advice. If that is not appropriate, both parties can be referred to other lawyers to advise them separately.
Other services may be appropriate, such as working collaboratively, mediation, or arbitration, and individuals can be referred to appropriate professionals to assist with these.
Will Better Divorce involve going to court?
No – Better Divorce is intended to be an out-of-court resolution process.
How long will the Better Divorce process take?
We will aim to complete the process within six months.
