In the community

We are proud to officially announce that we will be Reading Football Club Women’s team Official Legal Partner for the next three seasons, signing a three season contract to show our commitment. As part of the partnership, the BDB Pitmans branding will be visible at all Reading FC Women home matches and the firm will be supporting a number of community initiatives during the 150th anniversary of the club.

We are extremely excited to be part of the Reading Football Club family and can’t wait to begin working closely with them. Please see our official press release here for more information.

The Reading office is delighted to support New Beginnings. This charity aims to prevent and relieve poverty and financial hardship of people in Reading and the Greater Berkshire area who are in need due to social or economic reasons, regardless of their religion or belief.

We are also an official partner of Ethical Reading, a not-for-profit enterprise dedicated to making Reading a better place to live and work by helping organisations become more ethical. BDB Pitmans have pledged to fund six trees in the next planting season of their sustainability programme ‘Trees for Reading’. This initiative aims to make the town greener, healthier and happier, and to create a lasting legacy for the future.

For the past three years, we have also been providing the University of Reading’s School of Law students with five weeks of training in commercial mediation. In 2021, this was carried out remotely and Tim Clark (a Reading University alumnus) facilitated the training and provided valuable encouragement and feedback to the students. The eight students involved have already been trained by Resolve as community mediators and this additional training helped them to further develop and use their mediation skills in a commercial context.’
