Law firm BDB Pitmans expand into new Southampton office
Law firm BDB Pitmans has moved to larger offices in Southampton following a period of prolonged growth.
The firm has taken a 10-year lease on the Grade II-listed 4 Grosvenor Square, providing more than 7,000 square feet of space.
BDB Pitmans, with offices also in London, Cambridge and Reading and more than 430 staff, is recognised as a legal powerhouse in the built environment acting on major infrastructure projects, digital infrastructure, residential development, regeneration and commercial property asset management. The firm also has a strong reputation for acting for fast-growing businesses and wealthy individuals and their families.
The move follows the appointment in January of partner James Barnett, a commercial real estate specialist with a strong track record in asset management and investment.
Oliver Kelly, head of BDB Pitmans’ Southampton office said:
‘This is a significant move and investment in Southampton, providing scope for further growth over the next decade. 4 Grosvenor Square gives us the space and facilities needed for a superior experience for our clients, intermediaries and our members of staff.’
John Hutchinson, managing partner at BDB Pitmans adds:
‘Southampton is without doubt a significant hub for businesses in the Solent region and across Southern England. Its connections to London and Reading sit alongside our office footprint providing businesses and individuals with the full range of legal services and support they need.’
The expertise of the firm and its team in Southampton have recently been recognised at the Solent Deal Awards 2024 with the firm winning the Small Deal of the Year award and Oliver Kelly being recognised as the Lawyer of the Year. We were also shortlisted for the Law Firm of the Year award, the Mid-sized Deal of the Year category, as well as Leah Houghton being nominated for the Young Dealmaker of the Year.
Omega RE acted as letting and managing agents for 4 Grosvenor Square.
News of BDB Pitmans’ expansion was also publicised by Insider Media Limited, eprivateclient and The Business Magazine.
