Judith advises on all stages of litigation, from pre-action through to trial, acting for individuals, companies and public bodies.
She assists beneficiaries, executors and trustees in relation to disputes concerning wills and probate, including claims under the Inheritance Act and challenges to will validity. She also assists professional executors to administer estates, and has experience of various trust-related issues.
Judith also advises on a range of regulatory and public law issues, including statutory appeals, protection of title, fitness to practise proceedings and judicial review.
Judith’s work also includes commercial disputes and she acts as an agent in Privy Council appeals from various jurisdictions.
- Bermuda Bar Council (Respondent) v Walkers (Bermuda) Ltd (Appellant)  UKPC 25: acting for the successful appellant in an appeal to the Privy Council centering on the requirement for a Bermudan company to be ‘controlled’ by Bermudans under the Companies Act 1981.
- Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago (Appellant) v Ayers-Caesar (Respondent)  UKPC 44: acting for the respondent in two joined appeals to the Privy Council, both of which were dismissed. The appeals were against interlocutory orders made in a judicial review brought by the respondent against the Judicial and Legal Services Commission and the President of Trinidad and Tobago.
