Monika specialises in infrastructure planning, public law and procurement.

Monika has worked on a wide range of matters, but has a particular interest in the transport sector. She has advised extensively on all aspects of the authorisation process for development consent orders (DCOs) under the Planning Act 2008, and has now acted on ten such projects. The projects span a range of sectors including highways, airports, energy, and business and commercial, and include acting both for promoters and those objecting to such proposals. She also advises on projects requiring authorisation under the Transport and Works Act 1992. Notable clients include National Grid, Highways England, Transport for London and Luton Borough Council.

She also advises on a wide range of public law issues, including regularly advising a public regulatory body on various matters relating to their function as well as in relation to disciplinary issues. She also advises on public procurement strategy and other public body issues such as the implementation of a workplace parking levy scheme for a local authority and advising Natural Resources Wales in relation to the amendments of internal drainage board boundaries.

In addition to her major projects practice and her public law work, Monika also advises on matters under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 including providing advice to individuals on planning application matters and to developers on issues such as stopping up orders and section 106 agreements, including their drafting and negotiating.
