Profile

Services

Sinéad leads the commercial litigation team. She is an experienced litigator used to dealing with complex, high-profile and high value commercial disputes with a particular interest in corporate disputes. Her cases include acting in an early leading case on the statutory derivative claim under the Companies Act 2006, multi-million pound swap mis-selling claims and dealing with a multi-million pound dispute between shareholders in a complex off-shore structure as well as numerous, vanilla contractual disputes, breach of warranty and professional negligence claims. Whilst Sinéad deals with any dispute in the commercial arena, she has a particular interest in shareholder disputes with recently reported cases including acting for the Respondent Shareholder in Re Dinglis Properties Ltd [2021]1 All ER 685 where the allegation of a quasi-partnership was successfully opposed and in associated proceedings concerning non-contractual agency in a family business both at first instance and at the Court of Appeal (Dinglis Properties Limited v Dinglis Management Limited [2019] EWCA Civ 127)

A niche area that Sinéad also specialises in is inquests work. In this regard, she has considerable experience having been appointed as Solicitor to the Fishmongers’ Hall Inquests, Deputy Solicitor to the Tunisia Inquests and acted for Interested Persons in the Hillsborough Inquests and the inquest into the death of Jacintha Saldanha.
