We are pleased to announce a clutch of promotions and arrivals across the teams that assist individuals and trusts.

Lucinda Brown (Partner) – Lucinda is head of our will and trust disputes team. She has over 17 years’ experience in disputes concerning wills and trusts of all types and is a recognised leader in this specialist area of work.

Lucinda acts for charities, executors, trustees, families and individuals and has had notable successes at trial and mediation. Clients and peers appreciate Lucinda’s approach to resolving the most intractable of disputes. She is praised for her ‘wise judgement’, ‘realistic advice’ and her ‘ability to advance her client’s case robustly’. She actively promotes mediation as a means of resolving disputes wherever possible.

Jonathan Colclough (Partner) – Jonathan advises UK resident and international clients on UK tax, trust, estate and succession issues with a particular focus on international cross-border matters for non-UK domiciled clients, offshore trustees and family offices. He is a member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and has obtained the STEP Diploma and the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients. Jonathan is named as a Leading Lawyer in Citywealth, as a key lawyer in the Legal 500, and is ranked in Chambers in the High Net Worth Guide and as a lawyer with foreign expertise in South Africa.

Marilyn McKeever (Partner)Marilyn specialises in international and UK tax and estate planning, including personal (especially non-domicile) and trust taxation, and has over 30 years’ experience. She works principally with international individuals and families, and the trustees of their trusts, in particular where there is a US connection, to help manage family wealth. She regularly advises international families on cross-border tax and legal matters and the mitigation of double taxation. Marilyn also advises on the tax aspects of onshore and offshore pension schemes.

Marilyn is a member of The Law Society’s Tax Law Committee and in that role regularly consults with HMRC on policy and new legislation in the offshore and non-domicile field. She combines her practice with sitting as a judge of the First Tier Tax Tribunal.

When not tackling difficult tax problems, Marilyn confesses to being ‘a bit of a fitness fanatic’. She is also looking forward to being able to travel again: anywhere with mountains to hike up, galleries and museums to visit and / or good restaurants.

Tim Middleton (Partner)Tim has practised real estate law for his entire career, specialising in legal services relating to residential property for over 30 years.

Tim joins us from Hewitsons, where he headed up the firm’s residential property team for 12 years, bringing about significant growth and managing every aspect of the services they delivered. He is experienced in the full range of residential property services and has worked with an extensive range of high net worth individuals.

For Tim, what matters is identifying his clients’ needs and using his knowledge and experience to guide them successfully through the process to their desired goal. He enjoys working as a team with others involved in the home buying process (whether agents, surveyors or financiers) to achieve their respective clients’ goals as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

When not working Tim can be found either playing / watching cricket or riding his motorbike.
